Drow, TMNT, things that remind me most of Mirro and sometimes poses or forms that I wish to study. But, mostly, if your picture rocked my world, I'm gonna put it here!

Page Pimp!

Journal Entry: Sat May 11, 2013, 9:47 AM

I got a comment on one of my stock photos that it was featured on a Legend of Zelda on hyenacub-stock page.  the stock photo she used was of Cade.  I don't normally pimp out others pages- but I do feature them.  And so after looking at all the awesome on that page (men with swords. commence drooling.) I thought it was only fair to do just that and let everyone else see the figures there for you to enjoy and use.

Just never forget to credit and tell the stock taker when you use their stuff.

I am doing well.  Trying to make money seems to be the biggest issue.  I started Lavender Canvas, my art business.  No one has picked anything up yet, though I've given out a few freebes to get the interest running.  In the meantime I'm trying to make a backup of things to sell online (I have tried to make a website with no luck, something I'll have to get my husband on, I suppose) so that I can start a cashflow and begin investing in it.  I'm going to be doing portraits, miniatures and holiday items (because I cannot help myself come halloween.  This year I made sugar skulls. :XD:)
thank you so much for checking on me!  I will be trying to put up some of my stuff that I have done on dA today.  Hopefully you'll enjoy seeing some of it.
How are YOU doing?

I'm surviving.  It has been a hard year.  Nursing school is sucking away all my resources, financial and emotional.  I lost my mom in August.  We buried her on my late son's birthday.  I've been looking for a job as a nursing assistant until I graduate.  My daughter is growing up fast.  I am having fun with her.  We made salt dough Christmas ornaments this year for the Christmas tree.  She wanted to paint "spooky faces" on hers.  I let her.  I've done Steampunk costuming but not as much as I would like due to school.  Nursing school is the hardest thing that I have ever done.  Right now I get to spend my Friday and Saturday each week delivering babies.  How is the writing going?  I really miss your stories.  Hope your boy are doing well and that you aren't too deep in snow.

I'm really sorry to hear about your mother, and doubly sorry to hear about your son.  Those are major life changes there, and to know you're going through nursing school and having that stress on top of it- it's got to be a bit overwhelming.  I'm sorry, I'm terrible at dealing with losses.  There is not much I can say to help, and I know it.

But I am very glad that you are pushing through and enjoying your daughter.  so cute, the ornaments.  I thought of doing that too, but I didn't get to it this year.  Maybe next year!  I'll have to look up the recipe. XD  Time goes by so quickly with children.  and life is kind of a bastard about letting you have it your way.  I wanted to have 4 kids.  I was allowed two before, for reasons we can't explain, we just up and quit making babies.  I was depressed about it for a long, long time, but then I realized I had two beautiful, amazing boys right here and if I couldn't have more then I should look forward to using that 'other children' money to do great things with my boys.  Though it's just in the developmental stages, I'd like to take them to NY and even out of the country so they can learn much more than they will just in a Midwestern school.

And, hey, delivering babies is kind of cool, right?  Being one of the first people to see a new face come into the world.  that's powerful stuff right there.  Good luck on your nursing!  You are a great nurse, if your personality has anything to say about it.

I have not been doing a lot of writing.  I'm not sure if it's a dry spell, a sick spell or I'm depressed, but I just don't feel like doing a lot of it lately.  Actually, I'm here on that note.  One of my best friends kept insisting I come back to my dA page and read through the comments under any one of my stories.  she said it would help me focus and see that people do, indeed, like my writing (and it's not being ignored, which is what it feels like right now.  I wish I could get published.)  It doesn't help that I have been working from home for a little over 2 years and, though that seems like a dream job, my desk and computer have become one with a job I don't really enjoy doing.  So as soon as my hours are up, I'm as far away from the computer as I can be.

In the absence of writing, I have been doing art and trying to sell it over the internet.  Hopefully that'll help.  You know, anything to get one step ahead (pretty much so that the government can tax it away from me and give it back to the rich... GAH!).  but it would be great if my writing could start taking off.

I'm sorry if I've blabbered too long.  I have a tendency to do that.

Snow.  Well, we have some. but comparing it to the last few years, it's been a dry as fuck winter.  Last year we had feet upon feet of snow.  this year it's just been really damn cold.  Too cold to do much of anything, really.  Cars have died and roads are icy.  I hate winter more than anything else I hate that I cannot control...  :XD:
